I'm a craft junky but I haven't always been. I began my journey 7 years ago building up to today. I left home to join the military when hurricane Ivan hit and devastated the panhandle. I was busy learning my job, a medic, and being a young adult to ever sit still at a sewing machine. Craigslist didn't exist then, even if it did I would of felt above purchasing something used. I toured most of Europe twice...well three times in my life. Most recently a dollar couldn't even be used to purchase a candy bar compared to the Euro. I discovered that buying used was my only option there. Fast forward to today, a mother of one, wife to a full-time Physician Assistant student, an old senile dog, 1 bottom of the line income. We learned techniques so we don't have to struggling or appear to be. My daughters toys purchased sometimes new but mostly used bleached and scrubbed to look new, cloth diapers, handmade clothes, refurbished furniture allow us to utilize our limited funds to live in a good neighborhood and new house. Living good is never about money. I managed a beach wedding off a budget of less than $10,000.00 to include the rental of 2-5 bedroom beach houses, full catering service, photographer, wedding gown, bridesmaid dresses, the whole works.
