Nursery Wall Decoration

Easy and Cheap Wall Hangings

I remember going to a family friends house and marveling over the children's room.  She had her two adorable little girls in a big room with tons of wall space.  What she did to utilize the wall space and reduce clothing clutter of two little girls in the closet was hang the pretty dresses and outfits on the wall.

It makes perfect sense.  We go to stores and 'oh' and 'aw' over tiny baby clothes, why not showcase those precious little outfits everyday?

All you need is string or ribbon, clothes line clips, and your most adorable of baby outfits.  I've seen it also be hung with beautiful baby hangers off the line.

Here is an example I found (since I didn't bring a camera to take a picture of the little girls room)...

To keep it looking neat make sure you starch and iron.

Virginia Earthquake Funny

I just moved from Virginia 2 months ago to Florida and as we all know or heard they got hit with an earthquake and now Hurricane Irene is coming their way (instead of ours).  So these funnies hit close to heart and it's increditably hard to stop laughing because although earthquakes can be serious, it wasn't more than a mear shake in VA.

Desk makeover: Before & After

Someone's trash CAN BE your treasure!

I recently purchased a $25 desk off craigslist.  I want to use it as a sewing desk but right now it's not in any condition to even come into the house.  The paint is black and red and the wood is splintering.
 I love it.
I bought new drawer knobs off Amazon for fairly cheap $11.51 for 8!
I got a quart of Pistacchio Ice Cream paint for $11.50
A quart of white primer paint for $7.50
Brushes/tape, etc, for $5.00

Here's the desk I'm redoing...

Here's some inspiration for that drab piece of furniture...

My top didn't turn out as polished:

Here's when I repainted the top to match better:

Feeling a little rushed on this project but I put in hardware, my final touches will be wallpapering the drawers (verses painting, it gives it more character and better design features)

So here's my before and after:

Total cost: $60.51
Compared to my inspiration desk at Joann Fabric...

Which is on sale for $449.00!
